Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in young people aged 12 to 18. Participants learn a practical action plan for supporting a student in crisis or developing a mental health problem, and how to connect them to appropriate care. As required by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, both pre-work and post-work are mandatory; links and instructions are sent before the training date. Free, 6 CPE hours.

Civics Training Program (SB 3)

Two-day civics training that builds a factual foundation for teaching civics through close study of primary sources and the founding documents of the United States. Participants practise strategies for civil discourse, media literacy and simulations of governmental processes, and leave ready to lead classroom and campus instruction in civics. Texas Senate Bill 3 requires every campus to have at least one teacher and one principal who has attended an official civics training program, so this session keeps campuses compliant. Free, 12 CPE hours, for one K–5 teacher and principal per campus.
