Prints Charming: 3D Printing for Tactile Learning

Part of the Vision Impairment Professionals Cohort. This hands-on follow-up to Prints Charming: Bringing Learning to Life takes participants into accessible 3D printing: locating models, using slicer software, preparing printers, understanding basic settings and completing a guided print using PLA filament. Teachers of students who are blind or visually impaired leave able to produce tactile classroom materials themselves. Free, 6 CPE hours.

Civics Training Program (SB 3)

Two-day civics training that builds a factual foundation for teaching civics through close study of primary sources and the founding documents of the United States. Participants practise strategies for civil discourse, media literacy and simulations of governmental processes, and leave ready to lead classroom and campus instruction in civics. Texas Senate Bill 3 requires every campus to have at least one teacher and one principal who has attended an official civics training program, so this session keeps campuses compliant. Free, 12 CPE hours, for one K–5 teacher and principal per campus.
