Suited to general and special education teachers supporting students with severe and chronic misbehaviour, staff in specialised behavioural settings, and administrators or coaches who support teachers. Participants learn how to improve student attendance through universal prevention at the school and classroom level, leaving with concrete strategies for communicating the importance of regular attendance to staff, students, families and the community. Covers ways to raise student and parent awareness, motivation and reinforcement strategies that encourage regular attendance, and ways to assess and intervene with common causes of absenteeism, with examples from real schools and districts. Part of the Vision Impairment Professionals Cohort. This hands-on follow-up to Prints Charming: Bringing Learning to Life takes participants into accessible 3D printing: locating models, using slicer software, preparing printers, understanding basic settings and completing a guided print using PLA filament. Introduction to Forestry Education for the K-12 Classroom

A full-day introductory workshop on teaching the importance of Wisconsin's forests to our ecological, economic and social well-being. Educators learn principles, activities and techniques to integrate hands-on forestry education into K-12 science, social studies, agriculture, mathematics, ELA and general elementary classrooms. The workshop demonstrates alignment to standards, STEM and career connections and literacy links, with a brief introduction to outdoor teaching, plus dedicated time to begin infusing forestry activities into your existing curriculum. Ready-to-use activities are supplied so teachers can integrate relevant lessons right away. Substitute reimbursements of up to $125 per participant are available to the school/district with an invoice; participants should bring a lunch.
