ESL Supplemental (154) Certification Academy

A two-day academy helping teachers prepare for the ESL TExES (154) exam while building the knowledge to facilitate and differentiate instruction for English learners. Content covers history, law, research, methodology, strategies and rationale, plus the range of ESL programme models. Day one runs 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and day two 9:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. $400, 6 CPE hours.

Civics Training Program (SB 3)

Two-day civics training that builds a factual foundation for teaching civics through close study of primary sources and the founding documents of the United States. Participants practise strategies for civil discourse, media literacy and simulations of governmental processes, and leave ready to lead classroom and campus instruction in civics. Texas Senate Bill 3 requires every campus to have at least one teacher and one principal who has attended an official civics training program, so this session keeps campuses compliant. Free, 12 CPE hours, for one K–5 teacher and principal per campus.
