A free, five-day residential program of the George Washington Teacher Institute at Mount Vernon for K–12 educators. Teachers work with historians and master educators, explore the estate and collections, and build classroom-ready strategies. Selective application: Summer 2027 applications open November 16, 2026, with acceptance notices April 1, 2027. Mount Vernon reimburses an average of $350–700 per teacher toward travel. Theme: The Worlds of Martha Washington and the Women of the 18th Century.
