Intensifying Reading and Mathematics Intervention: What do you do if standard approaches don’t work?

Do you have questions about how to individualize and intensify instruction when your students are not responding? This workshop will introduce participants to data-based individualization (DBI), a process for individualizing and intensifying interventions through the systematic use of assessment data, validated interventions, and research-based adaptation strategies. The workshop will provide an overview of DBI, illustrate how DBI can be used to support the delivery and intensification of evidence-based reading and mathematics intervention, demonstrate how DBI strengthens both MTSS and special education service delivery, and highlight lessons learned from successful implementation efforts across schools, districts, and states. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the DBI process, access to freely available tools and resources, and actionable strategies to improve outcomes for students who need the most intensive support.
