WatershED Teacher Workshop

Free, hands-on professional development from the Texas Water Resources Institute connecting classroom learning with local water quality. Educators explore watershed function, runoff, nonpoint source pollution and water quality through hands-on, collaborative activities tied to Central Texas springs, creeks and rivers. Activities and resources adapt to different grade levels, subject areas and settings, and participants leave with ready-to-use classroom materials. Runs 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and includes lunch.

GNOSEF Teacher Workshop: Science Fair Project Development

An in-person workshop for teachers running classroom science and engineering fair programs. Experienced educators cover project development, ISEF paperwork, quad chart and slide formats, poster examples, and the GNOSEF timeline. Participants receive a certificate they can submit for Continuing Learning Unit (CLU) credit. A $20 deposit holds your spot and is refunded, along with a $50 stipend, when you attend the full workshop.

Angler Education Instructor Training Workshop - Grand Prairie

Become a Texas Parks and Wildlife Certified Angler Education Instructor. This free, hands-on workshop is open to Texas residents 18 and older who are interested in learning and teaching fishing skills in their communities; no fishing experience required. After certification, the program provides the curriculum, equipment (where available), materials and support. Ideal for teachers, after-school or camp staff, youth group leaders and community volunteers. TEA-approved CPE available. Preregistration required; limited to 12 attendees.

Project WILD Workshop - Denison

Professional development for anyone who works in education with children or the public, including teachers. Explore the world of wildlife and ecosystems through fun, hands-on, TEKS-aligned activities while networking with other educators. Participants receive 6 hours of TEA-approved CPE and TEEAC credit, the Project WILD K-12 guide and Texas-specific resources. Dress for outdoor learning and bring a sack lunch and water.
